High-Density ফিশ ফার্মিং টেকনোলজির সবচেয়ে ইম্পরট্যান্ট যে ব্যাপারটি জানা প্রয়োজন, তা হলো, সাধারণভাবে মাছ চাষের একটি পুকুরের তুলনায় এই টেকনোলজি এপ্লাই করা পুকুরে 20 থেকে 30 গুণ বেশি মাছ উৎপাদন করা সম্ভব। সাধারণভাবে আধুনিক পুকুর বলতে বোঝায়, পানির কোয়ালিটি ঠিক রেখে অধিক ঘনত্বে মাছ উৎপাদন পদ্ধতি ।

এই টেকনোলজিতে মাছ চাষ করার জন্য পুকুর কে একটি নির্দিষ্ট সিস্টেমের আওতায় আনার প্রয়োজন হয়। এক্ষেত্রে সাধারণ পুকুরের পানি শুকিয়ে পুকুরের মধ্যভাগে মেজারমেন্ট করে বটম ক্লিনিং সিস্টেমের ব্যবস্থা করা হয়। এই সিস্টেমের মাধ্যমে পুকুরের মাছের বর্জ্য সহজেই অপসারণ করা যায়, ফলে ক্ষতিকর কোন গ্যাস তৈরি হতে পারে না। এখানে পুকুরের নিচের অংশে মাটির উপরে ব্যবহার করা হয় HDPE Geomembrane Pond Liner.

যার ফলে পুকুরের মাটি বা কাদার সাথে পানি এবং মাছের কোন সম্পর্ক নেই। এইচডিপিই জিওমেনব্রেন লাইনার একটি শক্ত উচ্চ ঘনত্বের প্লাস্টিকের লাইনার। এই লাইনার টির স্থায়িত্ব 25 থেকে 30 বছর। যেহেতু সাধারন পুকুরের তুলনায় এই পুকুরে 20 থেকে 30 গুণ মাছ বেশি চাষ করা সম্ভব, তাই অধিক ঘনত্বের এই মাছের অক্সিজেন চাহিদা পূরণের জন্য ন্যানোবাবল টেকনোলজি এবং অক্সিজেন মেশিন ব্যবহার করা হয়। ন্যানো বাবল টিউব মূলত একটি এয়ারেশন টিউব, এই টিউবে রয়েছে অসংখ্য ছিদ্র। এই ছিদ্রগুলি খুবই সূক্ষ্ম। 1 ইঞ্চি টিউবে বারোশো এর অধিক সূক্ষ্ম ছিদ্র রয়েছে।

হাই প্রেসার রুটস ব্লোয়ার এর সাথে ন্যানোটিউবের সংযোগ করে পুকুরের পানির নিচের অংশে বাতাস পৌঁছে দেয়ার ব্যবস্থা করা হয়। ফলে ন্যানো এয়ার বাবল পানির সাথে মিশে যায়। আধুনিক ভাবে তৈরি কৃত এই পুকুরে ক্ষতিকর জীবাণুর আক্রমণ থেকে মাছকে সুরক্ষার জন্য ব্যবহার করা হয় ওজন টেকনোলজি।

আধুনিক এই পুকুরে আরো ব্যবহার করা হয় ডিপ ওয়াটার ফ্লো এয়ারজেট এয়ারেটর, এয়ারেটর প্রতি ঘণ্টায় 200 থেকে 300 মেট্রিক টন বাতাস এবং পানি মিক্সিং করে পুকুরের 8 থেকে 10 ফিট গভীর পর্যন্ত বাতাস পৌঁছে দেয় এবং নদীর মতো স্রোত তৈরি করে। ফলে অ্যামোনিয়া সহ অন্যান্য গ্যাস পুকুর থেকে বের হয়ে যেতে সহযোগিতা করে । তাছাড়া কোন কোন প্রজেক্টে প্রয়োজন অনুসারে অন্যান্য ওয়াটার ফ্লো এয়ারেটর ব্যবহার করা হয়।

আধুনিক এই টেকনোলজি পুকুরে এপ্লাই করার জন্য পানির কোয়ালিটির উপর ডিপেন্ড করে কোন কোন ক্ষেত্রে আরও ব্যবহার করা হয়- মাইক্রো ফিল্টার, বায়োলজিক্যাল ফিল্টার, আলট্রাভায়োলেট সিস্টেম সহ আরও কয়েকটি ইকুইপমেন্ট। পানির কোয়ালিটি, পুকুরের পরিমাপ এবং পরিবেশের উপর নির্ভর করে এই টেকনোলজির সিস্টেম গুলির পরিবর্তন করার প্রয়োজন হয়।
