DI or deionized is another name for DM Water Plant or demineralizer or demineraliser. Ion Exchange Resins are used in the Demineralisation Process to remove minerals. Water is demineralized by passing it through a Cation Resin FRP Column, followed by an Anion Resin FRP Column.

The role of DM water is immense in any chemical industry and electrical industry or pharmaceutical industry. DM water plant demand is increasing day by day in Bangladesh.

Conductivity of water below 10 is preferred for making DM water plans through anion and cation exchange resins.

From the long experience of assamsia company, it is realized that the production cost will be much lower if the dm water is constructed by cation and anion exchange resin after reverse mosses system And the dm water conductivity will always be the better.

Softening alone is insufficient for most high-pressure boiler feed waters and for many process streams, especially those used in the manufacture of electronics equipment. In addition to the removal of hardness, these processes require removal of all dissolved solids, such as sodium, silica, alkalinity, and the mineral anions (Cl¯, SO4²¯, and NO3¯).

Demineralization of water is the removal of essentially all inorganic salts by ion exchange. In this process, strong acid cation exchange resin in the hydrogen form converts dissolved salts into their corresponding acids, and strong base anion exchange resin in the hydroxide form removes these acids. Demineralization produces water similar in quality to distillation at a lower cost for most fresh waters.

Regeneration of Demineralization (DM) plants

How to regenerate a DM Water Plant?

Regeneration of Demineralization (DM) plants is essential to maintain their efficiency and effectiveness. The regeneration process for Strong Acid Cation (SAC) and Strong Base Anion (SBA) involves the use of hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide solutions, while the Condensate Polishing Unit (CPU) process involves the use of a mixed bed ion exchange resin.

To know more about DM Plant Regeneration:

The exhausted cation resin is regenerated by hydrochloric acid (HCl) and the anion resin by sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution is sometimes called caustic soda. Depending on the water quality, ion exchange resins may get fouled in different ways, resulting in loss of resin efficiency to deliver pure water.
